Eclectic Design

Keep the house alive and changing.
Once youve finished your room, keep it fresh! Rearrange accessories whenever you start to get bored with a space. Clear off all the surfaces, Valencich says, to get a fresh view of the room.
Put all the accessories on one surface so you can see how they relate to each other. You may notice new pairings you hadnt thought of. If you dont change anything, at least you tried something different," says Valencich.
"I redid a corner of my office last week. I had two trunks with a lamp on top. I moved in a table from the living room, added a vase to the top, and suddenly it was a fresh new vignette. It didnt cost anything, but it was a fresh new injection into the space," says Valencich about the space pictured above.
Also, be on the lookout for new accessories to keep your look fresh. Eclectic rooms should evolve over time, just as you do, to reflect new experiences.
