Lowe's presents: Prepping Your Kitchen for the Holidays

The kitchen is the heart of most homes, especially during the holidays. To ensure you’re ready to tackle extra food preparations and guests, here are some tips to get your kitchen cookin’.

  • Check appliances.
Make sure your refrigerator, oven and dishwasher are in good working condition. If any of your appliances have seen better days, consider an early "present to self" by investing in a new, energy-efficient appliance.

  • Organize cabinets.
Organize cabinets and pantries so when you’re busy cooking, you’re not left searching for your missing pots or spices.

  • Hide the trash.
Nothing is less appealing than seeing, smelling or tripping over a waste container in the kitchen. Consider installing a convenient pull-out trash container underneath the sink.

  • Add decor.
From holiday decorations or a new light fixture to tasteful window treatments for the dining area, make your kitchen comfy and cozy, so you and your guests will be pleased to dine in.
