Thanksgiving: After Dinner Activities

After everyone has eaten to their heart's delight on Thanksgiving Day, there are a lot of fun and relaxing activities you can plan for your guests to keep the festive spirit of Thanksgiving going both indoors and out. Just remember to make everyone feel included and plan ahead to allow for plenty of time.

  • Plan Some Outside Activities. After your meal, go outside for some fresh air with your guests and take a nice walk. Organize a game of touch football, some timed races or collection games like who can collect the most leaves or acorns.
  • Get Out Your Board Games. Organize some indoor fun — anything from having the kids put on a show, to pulling out your favorite board game. Ask everyone to write one page in a journal about what they wish for next year.
  • Record A Video Diary. Another activity that you can do indoors or out is to ask everyone what they were most thankful for this year and record it on video. You end up with a great video diary.
