3 Tips for Pairing Beer With Food

Matching beer to food is an art akin to pairing wine

Matching the right beer with food is an art akin to pairing wine with food.

1. Lagers go with tomato-based dishes.
European-style lagers are bold and crisp enough to stand up to acidic dishes.

2. Balance spicier Foods with a lighter beer.
Dishes with aromatic ingredients, like spicy Asian or pan-Italian cuisine work well with the citrus-like notes of delicately hopped lighter lagers.

3. Match full-bodied Beer with grilled dishes.
American-style bock beers, with their rich, nutty, caramel notes, complement strong cheeses and grilled or blackened meats.

Note: Serve beer at 38-40 degrees
Serve beer cold. Pour straight down the middle of the glass to release the beer's natural carbonation and open up its delicate aromas.
