No visit to New York is complete without taking in a Broadway show. For bargain prices, get tickets at the TKTS booth in Times Square. On the day of the performance, they sell unsold tickets to all Broadway shows for 25 50% off the box office price. They only accept cash and travelers checks, so come prepared. And, get there early before tix go on sale 9 am for the matinee and 2 PM for the evening show.
When you want to explore the city, take advantage of the public transit system. A ride on the subway will cost you $2.
