George Roulett smiles at new life; Front Runner, Columbus, Ohio
|
As a child, George Roulett loved math and science, so it was no surprise when he decided to pursue an engineering degree. At the height of his career, he worked as a project manager with American Electric Power, sometimes putting in 70 hours a week. His responsibilities at the power plant left him with little time to train and pursue his dream of marathon running, so he decided to give up his job.
Three days after quitting, Roulett ran into an old friend while running on a local trail. He told the friend he wasn't working and was looking for something else to do with his life. His friend mentioned that he needed someone to help him out with his running store. That was all Roulett needed to hear, and he's been working at the running store, FrontRunner, ever since.
His work schedule 40 hours a week allows him to average 70 miles a week and run three hours every morning. Roulett has run 57 marathons. His personal best time is 3 hours and 22 seconds.
