Subhankar Banerjee, Photographer Radical Sabbatical : Episode FLRAD-304
Subhankar Banerjee was a top physicist working at impressive institutions such as Los Alamos National Lab and Boeing. But all the numbers and theories spinning around his brain made him feel like he was in the middle of a tornado. Banerjee realized he needed to simplify his life and get back to basics, so he decided to try photography. After learning the craft, he took a leap of faith and traded his life savings for a chance to travel to northern Alaska and photograph the landscape and animals. That trip is documented in his first book, Arctic National Wildlife Refuge: Seasons of Life and Land. He has sold more than 15,000 copies of his book so far and appeared at 25 book signings.
