- Wood was in the middle of an 18-day backpacking trip along the 300-kilometer Annapurna Circuit when he got inspired to bring books to schools in the area.
- Wood's first book shipment to Nepal consisted of 3,000 books collected from family and friends.
- His Room to Read program has sent more than 200,000 books to schools overseas.
- The group has also helped build 50 schools, 500 libraries and 30 computer labs.
- More than 90 percent of all donations to Room to Read go directly to projects.
