Fitness Trainer, Alpaca Breeder (206)After 12 years as a marketing manager, Melanie Marchand took a Radical Sabbatical from the politics of the office-world to pursue her dream as a personal fitness trainer. The women of Philadelphia are glad that she did.
Also, meet Sands Bellizzi, a woman who abandoned the hustle and bustle of a career as a high-traveling sales representative in Orange County, Calif., to raise alpacas, South American mammals related to the llama.
Personal Fitness Trainer Facts:
- Marchand is an aerobics instructor at the 12th Street Gym in Philadelphia and teaches classes for 400 to 500 people a week.
- She also earns an income as a personal trainer, charging $50 an hour.
