Wheat germ: Essentially the heart of the wheat seed, wheat germ has tons of nutrients. It's not known for its great taste, but just two tablespoons have a good amount of iron, thiamin, folate, phosphorous, magnesium and zinc (which helps with healing, children's growth and much more). Thiamin helps with nerve function. Phosphorous helps form strong bones and teeth. Some people sprinkle a little wheat germ on their cereal. It also can be added to yogurt or salads, or incorporated into batters for muffins, cookies and pancakes.
