  • Save loads of time addressing holiday cards: enter all your addresses into your computer and print them on self-adhesive labels. No more writer’s cramp, and your cards will be done in half the time!

  • Start cooking and freezing now for everyday meals so when you’re out late shopping or attending holiday functions you’ll still have dinner ready for your family. Double up on soup recipes and casseroles with fresh, healthy ingredients so you’re able to eat well even when pinched for time!

  • Purchase alternative gifts such as donations to a local or national charity to honor your friends and family. Not only does this help a great cause, it keeps you out of the mall and doesn't add clutter to the lives of people you care about.

  • Make a list and check it twice! It sounds so simple, but many of us don’t create a shopping list and stick to it, which leads to wasted time in crowded stores and stressful overspending. Keep a special "gift" notebook where you can write down the names of the people you need to shop for, as well as their hobbies, sizes or favorite stores, and record inspiring gift ideas as they pop in your head. Truly enjoy the season of giving!

  • Stock up on a stash of all-purpose gifts such as bottles of wine, soaps, lotions or olive oil. Wrap them and have them ready to go for that unexpected "giver" who shows up at your door.

  • Save time in the kitchen: create a binder filled with favorite holiday recipes or menu ideas. That way you won’t waste time flipping through magazines or cookbooks trying to find that favorite sugar cookie recipe. You’ll have everything you need to create your best holiday feast.

  • Start cleaning projects early so you don’t lose an entire weekend scrubbing your house from top to bottom. Work ahead to organize your linen closet so you’re ready for guests. Polish silver and furniture ahead of time so that dreaded task is done. By the time party season rolls around, all you’ll have to do is a quick dust and vacuum and you’re ready to entertain.
