Can't walk in high heels? Consider buying a style with a shortened heel.

Buying Shoes That FitWhat makes for the ultimate shoe shopping experience? When enthusiasm for a great pair of shoes does not override that the fabulous pair has to fit.
Designer Michelle K presently oversees three footwear lines: Michelle K dress and dress casual for women; Michelle K Sport for women; and Michelle K Girl, an adorable collection for young girls. Michelle K is associated with Skechers.
Here she offers some rules to ensure that your shoes are as great at home as they were in the store:
- Beware of salespeople who tell you that all shoes will stretch.
Only leather shoes with no lining will stretch, and they'll only stretch a little.
- If you're in-between sizes, opt for the larger one.
It's easier to make shoes smaller than bigger. You can add a padded foot bed to shoes that are a half size too large. Certain boots can be taken in to fit thinner calves.
- A slight slip in the heel is okay.
With wear, the slippage will reduce.
- If you can't walk with ease in a high heel, don't buy it!
Or consider buying a style where you can have the heel shortened by a half inch.
- What's great about shoes is by taking a chance with a new style or color,
it can completely change your look, and even your frame of mind.
