J Mays and the GT 40 Facts:
- J Mays, Ford's lead designer, joined the company in 1997. He previously had designed cars for Audi.

- The "40" refers to the height of the original car's roof, but the new model is four inches taller and a foot and a half longer.

Ford History Facts:
- Ford was founded in 1903 by Henry Ford with just $28,000 in capital. The first car was sold to a doctor.
- Ford sold 15 million Model T's from 1908 to 1927.
