Steak and Large Grills

Buyer's Guide

  • When shopping for large grills, choose the cooking method that best suits your needs.
  • Larger grills need higher BTU's. BTU stands for British Thermal Unit. The larger the BTU rating, the more fuel the grill consumes per hour.

  • Heat must be evenly distributed.

Do You Know What Part of the Cow You're Eating?

  • Brisket is a cut of meat from the breast or lower chest, and while all meat animals have a brisket, the term is most often used to describe beef or veal.

  • Chuck Steak is a cut of beef and is part of the primal cut known as chuck. The typical chuck steak is a rectangular cut, about 1" thick and containing parts of the shoulder bones and is often known as a seven-bone steak.

  • T-bone and Porterhouse steaks are cuts of beef that consists of a T-shaped bone with meat on each side. The larger side contains meat from the strip loin, and the smaller side contains the tenderloin.

  • Rib eye is a beef steak from the small end of the rib roast. When cut into steaks, the rib eye is one of the most popular, juiciest and expensive steaks on the market. Meat from the rib section is tender and fattier than other parts of the beef carcass. This extra fat makes rib eye steaks and roasts especially tender and flavorful.
