Culinary Expert Grace Parisi and Josh Witkin cooking in the kitchen

Anyone, but particularly expectant parents, needs a healthy diet. Start with a few "nutrient-packed" recipes that will make the transition as the family grows. If you're pregnant, make sure to consult your doctor about proper portions and diet plans.

Expert: Grace Parisi - Meet Grace and our other design experts.

Some solutions:

  • Consider these nutrition-packed foods and recipes: flank steak, sweet potatoes, a green salad, broccoli and fruit and berry parfaits.
    • Sweet potatoes are high in potassium, vitamin C, and vitamin A and Beta-
      carotene.
    • Green salad adds fiber and bulk.
    • Broccoli offers calcium, vitamin C and other antioxidants.
    • Blueberries, raspberries and strawberries are all high in vitamin C and antioxidants.
  • For all the flavor but half the salt, marinade the flank steak in low-sodium soy sauce as opposed to regular.
