If your parties are no fun for the host, adopt these tips from organization expert Gigi Scandinaro:

• Put a coat rack in the hallway so the guests can hang up their own jackets.
  
• Plan seating and side tables so people can put down their drinks, used dishes, and so forth.
  
• Place napkins, tableware and garbage cans around the house.
  
• Keep a small supply of cleaning supplies handy to clean up spills, broken glass or dropped food.
  
• Put what guests might need in the bathroom: hand lotion, tampons, aspirin and hand towels.
  
• Light a candle in the bathroom for a fresh smell and extra lighting.
  
• Keep toilet paper in a visible location so guests don't have to ask.
