Ginger Vanilla Vodka-Tini Simplify Your Life : Episode FLSYL-310
Makes about 8 drinks
Ingredients:
1 cup water
2/3-cup sugar
1/3-cup thinly sliced fresh ginger
1 vanilla bean, halved lengthwise and cut into one inch lengths
3 slices candied ginger, cut into 1/2-inch matchsticks
Ice
2 cups Vanilla Absolut
Preparation:
Candy the ginger. In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar and fresh ginger and bring to a boil. Cook over moderate heat, stirring just until sugar is dissolved.
Remove from heat, cover and let rest until cool. Strain, pressing hard on the ginger. Thread two pieces of candied ginger and one piece of vanilla bean on each of eight drink swizzle sticks and place one in each of eight martini glasses.
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add two tablespoons of syrup and a quarter cup of vodka. Shake vigorously until quite cold and strain into a martini glass. Repeat with remaining syrup and vodka to make seven more drinks.
