If you want greenery but are also trying to balance both Christmas and Chanukah in one household, find seasonal plants that aren't specific to either, says home exterior designer Mike Hoffman:
Purchase non-traditional plants, such as cyclamen, African violets, amaryllis and paper whites.
Use Alberta spruce topiaries to decorate instead of a traditional Christmas tree. They'll also last all year long with very little maintenance.
Purchase poinsettias that don't look traditional, such as Rosebud Poinsettias in white. All poinsettias prefer temperatures of 65-70F and generally last for three or four months indoors.
