Essaouira, Morocco Accommodations, Activities and More Suite and Simple : Episode FLSAS-112
Essaouira is Morocco's most popular coastal destination and has become a hot spot for travelers seeking relaxation in prime, unspoiled territory. Situated on the beautiful Atlantic coast of North Africa, Essaouira enjoys a pleasant climate year-round, although nightly winter temperatures are sometimes lower than what you would expect from an African climate. Don't forget to pack a sweater! You can get to Essaouira's smaller airport by taking a short flight from either Marrakech or Casablanca, but for a richer experience you might want to rent a car instead. This will give you a chance to soak up some of the unique local culture in the area and take in the stunning countryside views. Morocco won its independence from France and Spain in 1956, and although Arabic is the official language, French and Spanish are still widely spoken.
