Karen Duffy
Karen "Duff" Duffy launched her career as a wisenheimer VJ on MTV and it has been a wild ride. She's been Revlon's "Charlie Girl" spokesmodel and women's health advocate, a successful TV host, film actress and best selling author. Duff's inspiring memoir, Model Patient: My Life As An Incurable Wiseass, is an account of her exciting days as a young adult and how she dealt with her diagnosis of Sarcoidosis, a rare disease that attacks the central nervous system. She didn't write a book for sick people, she wrote a book for people with a sick sense of humor and it was a New York Times bestseller.
She also published a second book, A Slob in the Kitchen, an irreverent and informative cookbook that includes a recipe for gravy scented candles. It was an international success. She contributes to write for several publications, including Glamour magazine and The New York Times. She still volunteers at the same Manhattan nursing home she volunteered at when she was a kid. Presently she is in Chaplaincy School and is a student chaplain at a hospice. Duff and her
husband John and young son live in NYC.
Duff is the Host of FLN's Surprise Vacations with Karen Duffy.
