Some of the best clothing to take on camping trips is made from woven synthetics, which breathe well, wick moisture away from your skin and dry quickly.
Stay away from cotton. It doesn't dry readily, which is particularly dangerous in cold weather, and it doesn't keep you warm. You could get hypothermia wearing cotton in extreme temperatures.
Synthetic or wool socks will wick away moisture and both textiles help prevent blisters. This is not the case with cotton.
When camping, the one thing you can count on is the weather changing. So dress in layers you can add or remove.
Dark clothes attract bugs, so avoid more mosquitoes in warm weather by wearing lighter clothing.
Boots should have good treads for the terrain you're walking on, fit well and provide good support.
