Smile! A genuine smile shows that you're receptive. Those who don't smile are perceived as distracted or indifferent.
Use your eyes. This tells someone that you're really listening.
It's not always easy to make eye contact. If you're concerned about that, one trick is to focus on the space between the other person's eyebrows.
Stand tall. Plant your feet on the floor so that it's clear you're there to listen and you're not about to make a hasty exit.
Open up. When you cross your arms or legs, it puts a barrier between you and the other person and that's not good for clear communication.
