To determine the quality of a wooden desk, check the construction of the drawers. Look for:
Sturdy metal suspension rollers that open fully
Interlocking, or "dovetail" panel assembly, not staples or glue
Wood, not plastic, bottoms
Try a goldfish, unique frames, music or a special lamp.
