A Tahiti Vacation is Like No Other

For a truly exotic island vacation, book a tropical vacation to the paradise that is Tahiti. Tahiti and Her Islands and atolls comprise the country of French Polynesia — five island groups or archipelagoes that lie in the South Pacific south of the equator. The most frequently visited islands are Tahiti, Bora Bora, Moorea, Huahine, Raiatea, Manihi and Rangiroa, and every year, more and more visitors are recognizing that a Tahiti vacation is like no other.

Exotic Vacation Spot
Tahiti’s varied landscape makes it a truly exotic vacation spot. From its sea level coral atolls to volcanic mountain peaks, white sand beaches to stunning turquoise lagoons and lush green hills, the island is abundant with flowering plants. The weather is predictably tropical year-round and averages around 79 degrees Fahrenheit. Fresh tropical breezes and ceiling fans are generally sufficient to maintain comfort indoors, although many Tahiti resorts are air-conditioned. Water temperatures average 79 degrees in the winter and 84 degrees during the summer, with less than a degree of variation from the surface down to a depth of 150 feet.

Tahiti Resort Islands
Tahiti, known as "The Gathering Place," is the largest and most populated island, and is the starting point for all international travelers. Cascading waterfalls and rippling pools in the jungle-like interior provide a striking contrast to the black and white sand beaches and turquoise lagoons of the island’s perimeter. A circle island tour (about 70 miles) is a great way to see the island.

Bora Bora, "The Romantic Island," is often called the most beautiful island in the world, and one of the world’s best vacation spots and most will agree that it is. This tiny island — just 18 miles around — is encircled by a protective coral reef and breathtaking lush mountains provide a dramatic backdrop for the turquoise, lapis and aquamarine of the sheltered lagoon. Most of the island’s activities center around the spectacular lagoon. Visitors can enjoy the lagoonarium, a marine exhibit in the lagoon where the adventurous can swim with stingrays, huge sea turtles and reef sharks.

Whether you visit Tahiti, Bora Bora or some of the country’s other islands, you’ll quickly understand why a Tahiti vacation is like no other.
