Empire State Building
Located at 5th Avenue & 34th Street, the Empire State Building, is one of the most famous landmarks of New York City. At a height of 1454 feet, it was the world's tallest skyscraper for more than 40 years. A visit the observation tower on the 86th floor provides some of the most spectacular views of New York City.
Guggenheim Museum
Vacation tip No. 1: New York City has so many museums it's overwhelming. But NYC guides say a visit to the Guggenheim is a must. The Guggenheim was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, and is noted as much for its incredible architecture as for its collections, which includes rotating exhibits of popular culture, cultural icons, education programs and countless masterpieces.
The Statue of Liberty
An enduring symbol of the American value of freedom, the Statue of Liberty stands with her flaming torch overlooking New York Harbor and was the first thing millions of immigrants saw as they entered New York Harbor. Guided tours of the statue are available and the statue is accessible via ferry from Manhattan.
Vacation tip: Access to the top of the Statue is closed several hours before the park closes.
Ellis Island
Ellis Island, a small island in New York Harbor, was the official immigration portal to the United States from 1892 to 1954. The island, no longer used in this capacity, now features the Immigration Museum and has been designated with park status.
Central Park
Created in 1853, Central Park has more than 840 acres in the center of New York City. The park features sports, a zoo, two museums, amusement areas, kids travel games, food and entertainment.
