This jewel houses the masterworks of Dutch and Flemish painters from the 17th century, commonly called the Golden Age: Rubens, Hals, van Dyck, Vermeer and, of course, Rembrandt.
If you're planning to work your way through all the museums on this list, save this one for last. Not only is Rembrandt's enormous "The Night Watch" a transcendent experience that will cap off your world art tour, but the museum's main building is being renovated through 2008. If you're in town anyway, don't fret: The major masterpieces,including "The Night Watch," will be available for viewing in an auxiliary wing.
