Beautiful Greek Revival-style inn close to Harvard Square Mary Prentiss Inn
The beautiful Mary Prentiss Inn offers a wonderful alternative to a typical hotel stay when in Boston. Built in 1843 by William Saunders, a well-known architect, this carefully restored Neoclassical mansion stands out among Cambridges historic guesthouses as one of the most elegant bed and breakfasts in the area. Purchased in 1991 by local artist Charlotte Forsythe, who converted the house into an inn, the Mary Prentiss previous incarnations included a hostelry and a nursing home.
Situated at the edge of bustling Harvard Square, the inn houses 20 lovely rooms, each uniquely decorated in early American decor and featuring private bathrooms, luxurious linens and bath amenities, climate controls and free high-speed wireless Internet access. Each room also has a specially designed mattress to ensure a great nights sleep.
Guests of the inn are invited to enjoy a free made-to-order breakfast served in the fireplace-adorned parlor or on the outdoor terrace. There is also a complimentary afternoon coffee, tea and sweets service. For the health and comfort of the guests and staff at the Mary Prentiss Inn bed and breakfast, the inn is non-smoking. Pets are also not allowed.
