Union Station Hotel is housed in a century-old railroad station in downtown Nashville.
|
By Jamison Rotch
Built in 1900, this former railroad terminal turned hotel recently underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation that will make it a premiere Nashville destination well into the 21st century. With its Gothic exterior, 65-foot-high lobby ceiling and 100-year-old stained-glass windows, the building hearkens back to a bygone era of elegance on the grandest of scale. Mae West and an Alcatraz-bound Al Capone traveled through Union Station when it was a railroad terminal. The 125-room hotel is within walking distance of most downtown attractions.
