One of the most recent additions to Nashville's downtown gives new meaning to its "Music City" nickname. The Schermerhorn Symphony Center is modeled after some of Europes famed concert halls. It combines classical design with the marvels of 21st century acoustical engineering. Its 1,844-seat concert hall is one of the few buildings of its kind to feature natural, interior light through 30 soundproof windows. The venue also features convertible seating to create an intimate, musical atmosphere and an impressive, custom-built 3,600-pipe concert organ.
The Nashville Symphony makes its home at the Schermerhorn, so you can expect a calendar chock-full of Beethoven, Bach and Tchaikovsky. Special events include appearances from pop, rock and country stars like The Chieftains. Go to the Nashville Symphony's website for a complete schedule.
