Providence Biltmore
The grandest hotel in Providence recently completed a $14 million renovation.

A grande dame of Providence's hotels, the Biltmore is an 18-story, red-brick building with a place in the city skyline; its distinctive V-shape comes courtesy of its architects, who also designed New York's Grand Central Station.
The hotel was the beneficiary of a $14 million renovation in 2006. There's also a newly remodeled Starbucks, an 8,000-square-foot McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant and an Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa, where services include makeup lessons, bronzing treatments, facials and massages. Two major arts centers — Trinity Repertory Company and the Providence Performing Arts Center — are within five blocks of the hotel.
