Providence Biltmore The grandest hotel in Providence recently completed a $14 million renovation.
By Diane Vadino
A grande dame of Providence's hotels, the Biltmore is an 18-story, red-brick building with a place in the city skyline; its distinctive V-shape comes courtesy of its architects, who also designed New York's Grand Central Station.
The hotel was the beneficiary of a $14 million renovation in 2006. There's also a newly remodeled Starbucks, an 8,000-square-foot McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant and an Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa, where services include makeup lessons, bronzing treatments, facials and massages. Two major arts centers Trinity Repertory Company and the Providence Performing Arts Center are within five blocks of the hotel.
