Federal Hill is chockablock with Italian restaurants, but dining out isn't the only option. Savvy foodies will definitely want to make use of the neighborhood's fabulous Italian groceries, especially if their accommodations include kitchen facilities. Venda Ravioli sells ravioli stuffed with cheese, lobster, spinach or other fillings as well as Italian cookware like panini grills and pizelle makers.

Tony's Colonial offers a sterling selection of imported cheeses, oils and pastas, plus antipasti like stuffed cherry peppers. Scialo Bros. Bakery, nearly 100 years old, is one of the neighborhood's favorite destinations for Italian pastries.
