Bartholomew Park Winery
1000 Vineyard Lane
707-935-9511

This Sonoma Valley 37-acre winery produces handmade wines from organically farmed grapes. Agoston Haraszthy, a Hungarian nobleman who is considered the father of the California winemaking industry, planted grapes here in the 1850s. Frank Bartholomew, journalist and president of United Press International, bought the land in the 1940s and replanted the vineyard for a hobby winery. He built a recreation of the count's villa, above. The current winery opened in 1994.
