Johnnie Mercer Fishing Pier

The wooden Johnnie Mercer Fishing Pier was destroyed by hurricanes in 1996 and then reconstructed; it remains the only concrete pier in North Carolina. It's a popular place to fish or sit outdoors at the nearby restaurant while people-watching on the walkway.
