Originally the vision of renowned course designers and PGA Tour players Hal Sutton and David Toms, the Audubon Golf Trail boasts 10 courses across the state, winding through such places as Gray Plantation in Lake Charles, Olde Oaks in Shreveport and The Island Country Club in Baton. Named for naturalist and artist John James Audubon, all courses on the trail are members of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary for Golf Courses, a program dedicated to protecting the environment and preserving the natural heritage of the game of golf.

This nine-hole course plays 18 with a separate set of tees on each hole. Golfers must request tee times a minimum of 24 hours in advance to complete a background check before they're allowed to play. Tee markers are made out of real handcuffs that have come out of use.
