Sarah was born in Edinburgh to an English father and Japanese mother. Thanks to her father's academic career Sarah spent her youth in the U.K., Australia and Japan which accounts for her disparate loves of The Office, one-day cricket and Haruki Murakami. She graduated with a Bachelor of Economics / Japanese Studies from the Australian National University in Canberra and Keio University in Tokyo.

After finishing her degrees, Sarah embarked upon the logical career path of... television. She started out as a researcher in Sydney for the internationally acclaimed science and technology program, Beyond 2000, and then moved on to produce and direct the shockingly successful and globally omni-present Sex/Life. Other Australian producing/directing credits included: Discovery Channel; CNBC; Channel 10; and Channel [V].

In 1998 London was calling and Sarah segued onscreen to utilize her fluent Japanese to become the human face of anime on the Sci-Fi channel. Sarah then went on to host the channel cutting-edge show, Saiko Exciting, a two-hour cornucopia of Japanese animation, music videos and gaming. Other UK hosting credits included: travel, film and entertainment programs for NOW.com; MTV; The Studio; and Toonami.

In 2004, the sushi, sunshine, ashtanga and infinite TV hosting potential of Hollywood beckoned and she's been living it up on Fine Living ever since. Sarah currently resides in Los Angeles with her screenwriter husband, Mark Staufer.
