Ingredients:
3 medium potatoes, boiled, cubed and lightly salted
1 16 oz. can garbanzo beans
1 small, finely chopped onion
4 Tbs. cilantro, finely chopped
Dressing:
1/2-cup plain yogurt
1/4-cup water
1 Tbs. chaat masala (from Indian grocery store)
pinch of salt (to taste)
Sauces:
1/2-cup sweet brown chutney (from Indian grocery store)
1/4-cup green chutney (from Indian grocery store)
Garnish:
3/4-cup sev (from Indian grocery store)
cilantro
Instructions:
- Boil potatoes until cooked through, peel and chop into cubes. Let cool, lightly salt.
- Finely chop onions and cilantro.
- In large serving bowl, mix potatoes, garbanzo beans, onion and cilantro.
- In small bowl, whisk yogurt, water, chaat masala and salt until smooth no lumps.
- Just prior to serving, add dressing, sauces and mix together.
- Garnish with extra sev and cilantroand serve immediately.
Serving suggestion: Serve as an appetizer or on buffet table as part of the main course.
