Canada: Banff and Whistler (101)Explore one of Canada's national treasures, the Banff Hot Springs Hotel. Nestled against the Rocky Mountains, this enormous castle has been eyewitness to much of the country's history since it was founded in 1888. It's also one of Canada's most popular resorts, offering some of the best winter sports in North America.
Follow host Varun Sharma as he attempts his first skiing lesson, then it's off to Lake Louise to sample some other winter activities, including ice climbing and Canadian bowling. Afterwards, journey into the past and revisit the history of the Banff Hot Springs Hotel with the man who runs the hotel, Ted Kissane.
Next, head west to Canada's most famous resort, Whistler, located 75 miles north of Vancouver. Settle in at the Château Whistler, which offers a refreshing spa and golf, among other popular amenities. Snowshoeing and snowmobile touring are popular outdoor activities. The journey concludes with a helicopter ride, which offers a spectacular view of the nearby mountains and cliffs.
