Before heading over to Grinda, try spending some time in Stockholm exploring the treasures of Ostermalm market and visiting a few of many historical landmarks. It only takes an hour's ride on a high speed ferry from Stockholm to Grinda where you'll be greeted by the untouched natural beauty of fauna and flora. Grinda Wardshus Inn, with a camping field, cottages and a hotel housed in a historic mansion, has something to offer for everyone.

  • Grinda is best visited during the warm summer months. The long daylight hours leave plenty of time for enjoying the outdoors.
  • At the height of the summer, the sun sets at 10 p.m. and water temperatures range from 68-75 degrees.
  • Ferries leave Stockholm several times daily and take just over an hour.
  • Grinda has beautiful walking trails for learning about flora and fauna.
  • No cars are allowed on the island so pack good walking shoes.
  • Much of the island is a protected nature reserve. Be sure to read the signs.
  • Grinda combines simple accommodations with world-class cuisine
  • The open market of Ostermalm has been operating for over 100 years.
