Turtle Island, Fiji (101)Turtle Island is a tropical paradise set in the Yasawa Islands of Fiji in the South Pacific. - In 1972, American cable television mogul Richard Evanson purchased the barren Vanuya Levu and renamed it Turtle Island.
- All international flights to Turtle Island land in Nadi, on the island of Viti Levu.
- There is a minimum stay of six nights on Turtle Island
- It takes 30 minutes to fly from Nadi to Turtle Island by seaplane.
- There are only 14 bures (Fijian bungalows) on the island.
- Much of the furniture at the resort is handcrafted on the island and is available for sale.
- Fiji is made up of thousands of islands, but only 106 of them are inhabited.
- The average temperatures in Fiji are 87ºF November through April, and 84ºF May through October.
